By train

Located right in the city centre, the Donostia/San Sebastián train station, known as Estación del Norte, provides connections to numerous domestic cities, including Madrid and Barcelona, as well as international destinations such as Paris and Lisbon.
Entering and leaving Donostia/San Sebastián by rail will be much quicker thanks to the new high-speed train, which will soon link the city to a number of destinations.
The city is also served by the Metro Donostialdea, a narrow-gauge railway network linking it to Bilbao and Basque coastal towns such as Zarautz. There is also a railway line to Hendaye, featuring the train popularly known as the «Topo», or mole.
